Position Summary

The Parker Finance + Accounting Internship Program is designed to develop emerging talent through hands-on exposure to finance and accounting in a manufacturing environment. Interns will support real projects related to financial planning and analysis, month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, reporting, record retention, internal controls, and other finance-related initiatives.

This paid internship includes measurable goals, mentorship, and practical experience working with Parker finance, accounting, operations, and cross-functional business teams. Interns will gain exposure to how financial data supports business decisions, operational performance, compliance, and long-term planning. Upon successful completion, this internship may serve as a pathway to Parker's Finance + Accounting Leadership Development Program .

Fall and Spring semester internships must be at least 12 weeks in length. Summer semester internships must be at least 10 weeks in length.

Responsibilities

With direct supervision and support from Parker finance and accounting team members, the intern will:

  • Support financial planning and analysis activities, including reporting, schedules, and data review.
  • Assist with month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial documentation.
  • Help with record retention, audit support, and internal control documentation.
  • Learn and use Parker finance systems, accounting tools, and reporting applications.
  • Analyze financial or operational data to support business decisions and process improvements.
  • Participate in finance-related projects, problem-solving activities, and internal initiatives.
  • Work with finance, accounting, operations, and other business teams to understand workflow and business needs.
  • Attend training, management meetings, and mentorship sessions to build professional and technical skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance , or a related field.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher .
  • Demonstrated leadership interest or experience through class projects, student organizations, work experience, internships, volunteer activities, or extracurricular involvement.
  • Interest in working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organization, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work with financial data, reports, schedules, and business systems.
  • Willingness to learn finance processes, accounting principles, compliance requirements, and Parker business operations.
